读 Culture Shock! Korea by Sonja Vegdahl Hur & Ben Seunghwa Hur
A guide to some aspects of Korean customs and culture.
Some stuff which I found interesting:
~ A smile need not mean happiness but shame or embarrassment.
~ 'Going Dutch' is not practised. Paying the bill is done by the person who did the inviting.
~ Resting hand on the thigh of a same sex friend is one way of showing friendship.
It seems that certain conservative practices still have a place in the Korean society.
However, this book was written quite some time ago, so not sure how much of it is still relevant today.

看 도둑 맞곤 못살아 Steal It If You Can (2002)
Totuk Matgon Motsara
Starring 소지섭 (So Ji-Sup)
Steal It If You Can (or Thief Maker) is a story of how a burglar helps a man to redeem his pride as a husband and father. It is based on a true incident that took place in Japan and retold in a novel written by Hiroshi Saito.
Choi Kang-jo is a computer game programmer and also a professional thief. He steals for the challenge and pleasure which provide him the inspiration to create an "Owner vs Burglar" computer game.
Ko Sang-tae is a man in his late 30s, with a wife and two kids who share a common disability to taste. He is taken foregranted and unappreciated by his family.
Kang-jo targets Sang-tae’s mansion. However, each time Kang-jo merely steals three 10,000 won notes and the TV remote control, tastes and rearranges the food in the refrigerator. Sang-tae uses the break-ins as an opportunity to catch the burglar and reedeem himself in the eyes of his family.
The ending was that the owner and burglar opened a home security company together! I found this quite amusing and also the part when the burglar got hold of the owner's diary and realised he wanted a tie for his birthday! And so, the burglar sent the owner a parcel with ties on his birthday!

看 Over The Hedge
A group of animals discovers the human world over the hedge
and battles against the verminator.
Typical animation ending: the good characters live happily ever after...
The story is as simple as that but nonetheless a pleasure to watch.
Check out: http://www.overthehedgemovie.com/
Perhaps just like some animals are pests to us, we humans are pests to some animals.
It's just that animals don't have the privilege of hiring verminators!

去 Bukit Timah Hill
Uphill kills. As expected since my first and last climb was 9 years ago.
I remembered... it was during the Primary 5 school camp.
We even took a class photo on the summit.

学 사랑해요
Now I understand why 사랑해요 is read as sarang-haeyo!
And this looks exciting: http://www.arts.monash.edu.au/korean/
唱 KTV
Anyway "사랑해요" of all words because I saw them in JJ Lin's 只对你说.
Nevertheless, K-Hit of the day is 三国恋 by Tank.
The feeling of singing it is quite different from just having a mere impression by listening.

想 What is Money?
Money! A special piece of paper, decorated in sombre colours, which everyone agreed was worth something - and she believed it - until you took a pile of that paper to a bank, a respectable, traditional highly confidential Swiss bank and asked: 'Could I buy back a few hours of my life?' 'No, Madam, we don't sell, we only buy.'
~Eleven Minutes~
Well, how true. Maybe that's why I'd rather not earn a single cent than to earn lots of cents doing something I don't like. If only what I like to do can earn me a living!
