도둑 맞곤 못살아 Steal It If You Can (2002)
Totuk Matgon Motsara

Starring 소지섭 (So Ji-Sup)

Steal It If You Can (or Thief Maker) is a story of how a burglar helps a man to redeem his pride as a husband and father. It is based on a true incident that took place in Japan and retold in a novel written by Hiroshi Saito.

Choi Kang-jo is a computer game programmer and also a professional thief. He steals for the challenge and pleasure which provide him the inspiration to create an "Owner vs Burglar" computer game.

Ko Sang-tae is a man in his late 30s, with a wife and two kids who share a common disability to taste. He is taken foregranted and unappreciated by his family.

Kang-jo targets Sang-tae’s mansion. However, each time Kang-jo merely steals three 10,000 won notes and the TV remote control, tastes and rearranges the food in the refrigerator. Sang-tae uses the break-ins as an opportunity to catch the burglar and reedeem himself in the eyes of his family.

The ending was that the owner and burglar opened a home security company together! I found this quite amusing and also the part when the burglar got hold of the owner's diary and realised he wanted a tie for his birthday! And so, the burglar sent the owner a parcel with ties on his birthday!
